In the midst of COVID-19, I resigned from my role as a manager from a medical spa due to personal reasons. With more time on hand, I pondered of the ways I could continue serving a greater number of customers and fuel my passion for beauty and wellness during the period of circuit breaker and beyond.
The Unexpected Mom-and-Sons Team
I decided to team up with 2 of my sons, Ben and Isaac, in early April 2020 to set up DermaCurate. Unlike the past 25 years of Mother’s Day, this year will be a different one as I will be sitting down with my team (aka sons) to review business goals & plan our strategies for the coming months. In the past month, Ben had been actively advising on the business strategies and Isaac was involved with the website development and digital marketing.
My sons had been really helpful throughout this challenging time and encouraged me to up-skill, retool and reinvent myself to remain competitive in the evolving landscape. With the encouragement of my 2 sons, I have enrolled in a digital marketing course, leveraging on the available subsidies provided by the government to enhance my skill sets to build this online business. Oh, for those who are interested, you can check the course out here, which is 95% subsidized by the government.
Running an online beauty and wellness business is a new domain for me, but as a team, we are committed to learn, build and grow the brand to impact the lives of our customers here in Singapore and eventually, regionally.
What is DermaCurate
DermaCurate is an online store that sources and handpicks the best skincare products from brands around the world and makes it simple for end consumers in Singapore to gain access to good quality products easily and at affordable price points. Leveraging on my years of experience, all products listed on our website are meticulously handpicked from various beauty, specialty and medical aesthetic brands from all around the globe.
Apart from making available curated skin care products, I hope to impart my knowledge of skin care, beauty and wellness and engage all of you through our social media channels, our website blogs and perhaps even through a Youtube Channel.
For a start, DermaCurate has introduced 3 skin care products, a multi-effect mist spray, a face masque and a set of ampoules, that I personally felt were suitable especially during the lock-down to help to hydrate and retain moisture in the skin. Most immediately, we aim to introduce a greater variety of skin care products at different price points to cater to the preferences of more customers.
Concurrently, we are at a pre-launch phase for our own DermaCurate branded products, starting with our “Renewal” Series targeted to help middle-aged customers rejuvenate their skins.

Parting Words for Mother’s Day
2020 will go down in history as one of the most extraordinary year and it is up to you to decide how you would want to write your story for 2020. I wish everyone well this period of time, stay safe and last but not least, to all mothers, a very blessed Mother's Day.

About the Founder
Eva, Founder of DermaCurate
Eva is happily married to Paul for over 25 years and is a mother of 4 boys. She previously served in the SAF as a Sergeant before venturing into the beauty and wellness industry by setting up her own beauty salons. Eva has over 20+ years of experience in operations, customer service and is a qualified beautician and has worked in various beauty salons, spas and aesthetic clinics.
Eva is building up DermaCurate with her two sons, Ben and Isaac. Isaac is an undergraduate at Nanyang Business School and assists with the daily operations of the business and digital marketing. Ben, a graduate from Nanyang Business School, advises the team as a business advisor on matters relating to business strategy, operations and marketing strategies.
